MGIMO at Education Exhibitions in Beijing
From October 30 to November 1, MGIMO International Office team, consisting of assistant to the vice-rector on international ties, youth and social policy Elizaveta Rudenko and senior public relations specialist Daria Chentsova, visited Beijing and took part in two education exhibitions.
On October 30, a «Meeting with Russian Universities» was held at the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing. On the sidelines of the meeting, a series of online presentations of Russian universities in Chinese on the Weibo platform was organized from the RCC studio.
On October 31 — November 1 China National Convention Center hosted «China Education Expo» — major university exhibition attracting prestigious higher schools from all around the globe. In 2025, 300 educational institutions from 38 countries took part in it. 18 countries had national pavilions. The Russian national pavilion under the auspices of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education brought together 20 leading universities and, according to the organizers, was among the most visited ones.
MGIMO staff communicated with Chinese prospective students and their parents, conducted an interdisciplinary quiz on Russian — Chinese relations, presented the university on the Weibo platform from the studio of the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing, and met with partners from China. Rinat Deushev and Alexander Svintsitsky, second-year master’s degree students at the School of International Economic Relations currently on a study internship in Beijing, as well as Alexandra Gaidai, a 2023 graduate of the School of International Relations, assisted as translators at the exhibitions.
The most active visitors to the exhibitions received memorable prizes from the new line of MGIMO branded merchandise. Chinese schoolchildren particularly liked the notebooks featuring quotes from Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Among the visitors to the MGIMO stand were many students studying the Russian language and interested in the international agenda. Both prospective students and their parents shared their thoughts on the importance of the strategic partnership between Russia and China, as well as the friendship between our peoples.
